Upcoming Fellowship Deadlines: August 18 – 31, 2024

 

  • Marcellus Policy Fellowship: The John Quincy Adams Society offers the Marcellus Policy Fellowship to nurture future U.S. foreign policy leaders. The fellowship equips fellows with policy writing skills and the ability to promote ideas. Fellows craft policy papers, memos, and op-eds, enhancing their competitiveness in the foreign policy arena. The fellowship held twice a year with 8-12 participants per cohort, is open to students and early-career professionals in foreign policy. Candidates pursuing careers in U.S. national security policy across various sectors are eligible, regardless of U.S. citizenship. Fellows receive a $750 stipend. / Apply by August 18, 2024

 

  • Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU): The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program supports active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the NSF. An REU Site consists of a group of ten or so undergraduates who work in the research programs of the host institution. Each student is associated with a specific research project, where he/she works closely with the faculty and other researchers. Students are granted stipends and, in many cases, assistance with housing and travel. Students must contact the individual REU sites for information and application materials. Two deadlines: the end of August and May. / Apply by August 21, 2024

 

  • Gettysburg College Dissertation Fellowship: The Consortium for Faculty Diversity invites applications for dissertation fellowships from candidates who will contribute to increasing the diversity of member colleges by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, maximizing the educational benefits of diversity, and/or increasing the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of students. Applicants must be able to provide evidence of U.S. citizenship or unconditional permanent residency status at the time of hire. Scholars will receive a salary. Dissertation Scholars will teach one course per academic year at the sponsoring college or university and contribute to other campus activities. Mentoring on teaching, scholarship, and professional life at liberal arts colleges will be provided. / Apply by August 21, 2024

 

  • NYS Masters-in-Education Teacher Incentive Scholarship Program: The Masters-in-Education Teacher Incentive Scholarship Program provides eligible students with a full-tuition scholarship for a master’s degree at a State University of New York (SUNY) or City University of New York (CUNY) college or university. An applicant must be a NYS resident and matriculated in an approved master’s degree in education program at a SUNY or CUNY college or university which leads to a certification as a public elementary or secondary education teacher. A recipient receives an annual award equal to the annual full-time tuition charged to NYS resident students attending a graduate program at SUNY or CUNY. The award is $5,655 per semester or actual tuition, whichever is less. / Apply by August 26, 2024

 

  • Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute Postdoctoral Scholar Awards: The postdoctoral scholar program provides research support and a community of mentors and peers to extraordinary Stanford postdocs advancing the understanding of the mind and brain in health and disease. Apply to become a Wu Tsai Neurosciences Postdoctoral Scholar in the Interdisciplinary or Brain Resilience track. Applicants must be appointed as a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University at the time the award begins. The award funding is restricted to support research activities that are focused on the neurosciences and are within the scope of work proposed in the scholar application. This program awards two years of fellowship funding and is pleased to provide parental leave. Postdoctoral scholars also receive $5,000 of discretionary research funds annually. / Apply by August 26, 2024

 

  • Westpac Research Fellowship: The Westpac Scholars Trust is partnering with Australia’s leading research universities to offer four Westpac Research Fellowships, each valued at a minimum of $400,000 over 3 years. These Fellowships offer early career researchers a unique opportunity to support their groundbreaking research and provide access to networks, open career pathways, and global experiences. Your proposed research must be in a field of research at a participating university with an Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) four-digit Field of Research (FOR) rating of “well above world standard”. Applicant must have a Ph.D. degree and be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. Check the website for more info. Apply by August 29, 2024

 

  • ASA Community Action Research Initiative Grants: The American Sociological Association encourages applications for the Community Action Research Initiative (CARI) grants. CARI grants are for projects that bring social science knowledge and methods to bear in addressing community-based problems. Applicants must be sociologists seeking to work with community organizations or community action initiatives. Applications are encouraged from sociologists working in a variety of work settings including academic institutions, research institutes, private and non-profit organizations, and government agencies. Graduate students are also eligible to apply. Grants are for up to $3,000 of direct costs. / Apply by August 29, 2024

 

  • AAS/AASF Research Fellowship Awards: The AAS is committed to supporting the advancement of surgical care by providing resources and education to young surgeon scientists. These awards intend to provide a fellow who has completed at least two years of postgraduate training in a surgical discipline the opportunity to spend one year in a full-time basic research position with an AAS member. The award of $30,000 for one year per award may be used for salary support and research costs. Applicants must be residents or fellows who are currently enrolled in an accredited training program and have completed at least two years of postgraduate training in a surgical discipline. / Apply by August 30, 2024

 

  • JAARS Fellows: JAARS is a multidisciplinary team of problem-solvers who are committed to the belief that people’s lives and communities are transformed as they experience God’s Word in their language. JAARS Fellows is an 11-month, merit-based, professional opportunity providing entry into fellows’ first career positions. Fellows join the staff in key positions and receive a spiritual and personal mentor as well as life skills training, intercultural communication development, and a bi-weekly stipend. Fellows must be biblical Christ-followers, value global ministry, have completed accredited post-secondary degrees, and be at least 18 years old. / Apply by August 31, 2024

 

  • H. Allen Brooks Travelling Fellowship: The H. Allen Brooks Travelling Fellowship allows a recent graduate or emerging scholar of the built environment to study by travel for one year. The fellowship is not to do research for an advanced academic degree. Instead, Prof. Brooks intended the recipient to study by travel and contemplation while observing, reading, writing, or sketching. The fellowship recipient receives a $60,000 grant and may travel to any country or countries during the one year. The fellowship is open to a scholar who will have earned a PhD or advanced terminal degree related to architecture. / Apply by August 31, 2024

 

  • Iqra Fellowship Program: The Iqra Fellowship is a year-long initiative to empower students and young professionals with the traditional, philosophical, and spiritual foundations needed to navigate modern challenges and succeed as Muslims in America. The fellowship strives to provide Muslims with a clear and convincing presentation of their own rich spiritual, intellectual, and philosophical traditions, as well as the resources they contain to address the existential issues and crises of our day. Eligible applicants are interested in exploring and enriching the lenses through which they see the world and are ready to grapple with complex and challenging questions, ideas, and knowledge.   • Major League Hacking (MLH) Fellowship: The MLH Fellowship is a fully remote 12-week internship alternative for aspiring software engineers where they earn a stipend and learn to collaborate on real open-source projects with peers and engineers from top companies. Instead of interning at a single company, on the Open Source Track, you’ll contribute to the type of Open Source projects that every company depends on. The MLH Fellowship runs year-round with batches starting every few months. This program is open to both current and non-students with any educational background.
