  • California Executive Fellowship Program (Capital Fellows): The Executive Fellowship Program is sponsored by the Center for California Studies at California State University, Sacramento (Sacramento State), and the Office of the Governor to provide an experiential learning opportunity in California state government. California’s executive branch is one of the most dynamic in the United States. Executive Fellows function as full-time professional staff in executive offices at various levels of California’s executive branch which includes the office of the governor, constitutional offices, cabinet secretaries, commissions, and departments. / Apply by December 8, 2024

 

  • Jesse Marvin Unruh Assembly Fellowship (Capital Fellows): This unique program provides an opportunity for individuals over the age of 20, from all backgrounds, to directly participate in the legislative process. Each year, 18 individuals are selected to participate in the program. The 11-month fellowship provides an introduction to public policy formation and adoption in the California Legislature through full-time work as a professional legislative staff member. Assembly fellows receive fully paid enrollment at California State University, Sacramento (Sacramento State), and earn graduate units for seminars taught by faculty from the Sacramento State Political Science Department. / Apply by December 8, 2024

 

  • Judicial Administration Fellowship (Capital Fellows): The fellowship program is both academic and professional. Includes full-time professional staff placements including California trial and appellate courts throughout the state and the Administrative Office of the Courts. All persons with a four-year college degree, including recent graduates and mid-career applicants are eligible to apply. Upon acceptance into the program, fellows are enrolled as graduate students in Public Policy and Administration at Sacramento State and attend regularly scheduled academic seminars. During the fellowship, fellows earn graduate units for the successful completion of all academic requirements. / Apply by December 8, 2024

 

  • California Senate Fellows Program (Capital Fellows): This program offers college graduates a paid, full-time legislative staff position in the California State Capitol for 11 months. The fellowship program’s primary goals include exposing people with diverse life experiences and backgrounds to the legislative process by providing research and other professional staff assistance to the Senate. Senate Fellows receive fully paid enrollment at California State University, Sacramento (Sacramento State), and earn graduate units for seminars taught by faculty from Sacramento State’s Political Science Department. The graduate seminars are a required segment of the fellowship program. / Apply by December 8, 2024

 

  • Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Predoctoral Fellowship: The purpose of the Kirschstein-NRSA predoctoral fellowship (F31) award is to enable promising predoctoral students to obtain individualized, mentored research training from outstanding faculty sponsors while conducting dissertation research in scientific health-related fields relevant to the missions of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers. Applicants for the F31 must be candidates for the PhD degree and have identified a dissertation research project and sponsor(s). The fellowship may provide up to five years (typically 2-3 years) of support for research training which leads to the PhD or equivalent research degree, the combined MD/PhD degree, or another formally combined professional degree and research doctoral degree in the biomedical, behavioral, or clinical sciences. / Apply by December 8, 2024

 

  • Forge Fellowship: The Roosevelt Institute Forge Fellowship is a summer opportunity for students currently enrolled at community colleges and public universities across the country who do not have an existing Roosevelt chapter on their campus. Participants will be trained in core policy, organizing, and base-building skills, and receive one-on-one guidance from Roosevelt staff and alumni as they build chapters and launch policy projects. Fellows will receive a stipend of $1,500 plus funding to cover work expenses and travel costs while attending a retreat in New York; additional school-year funding is available. / Apply by December 8, 2024

 

  • Roosevelt In Washington Fellowship: The Roosevelt in Washington Fellowship is a six-month leadership and professional development program for Network students, engaging them during the spring and summer before their junior or senior year. This program supports progressive policy career exploration, targeted skill-building training, mentorship from Network alumni, and placement into an eight- to nine-week summer internship within the Roosevelt Institute or a partner organization. RIW Fellows will also have the opportunity to grow as leaders in a community of other passionate policy wonks, with weekly seminar sessions on critical skills. The RIW Fellowship aims to serve as a stepping stone for a long career that strengthens the progressive movement. / Apply by December 8, 2024

 

  • Roosevelt Institute Emerging Fellowship: The Emerging Fellowship is a year-long, policy writing-focused, fellowship experience designed for students in the last one to two years of their undergraduate degree program. This rigorous and advanced Fellowship offers progressive-minded students the opportunity to dive deeper into policy research and writing and receive mentorship from Network Alumni and Roosevelt Institute staff. Emerging Fellows will be trained across key skill areas necessary for them to understand the progressive policy landscape, will engage with local advocates and policy experts, and will produce a short policy brief at the end of the fellowship experience.  All Emerging Fellows will receive a $3,000 stipend, disbursed in three installments, throughout their program experience. / Apply by December 8, 2024

 

  • USC Dornsife Center for Advanced Genocide Research Fellowships: The Center’s competitive fellowship programs attract the brightest scholars from all over the world. The residential fellowships, ranging in length from month-long to semester-long, enable scholars at all academic levels, including undergraduate students, Ph.D. candidates, and senior scholars, and from all academic disciplines to work with the rich resources at the University of Southern California. The Center is dedicated to advancing new areas of interdisciplinary research on various topics. / Apply by December 8, 2024

 

  • IEEE-USA Engineering & Diplomacy Fellowship: IEEE-USA is seeking IEEE U.S. members who are interested in spending a year working in Washington as an IEEE-USA Engineering and Diplomacy Fellow. IEEE-USA fellows serve a one-year fellowship starting in September. The fellowship offers an opportunity for the science, technology, and engineering community to provide technical expertise to the U.S. State Department, and help raise awareness of the value of your input while you learn about and contribute to the foreign policy process. Fellows receive a stipend of $85,000, depending on education level and experience, plus $5,000 for travel and relocation expenses. / Apply by December 9, 2024

 

  • IEEE-USA Congressional Fellowship: IEEE-USA created the Congressional Fellowship program to enable IEEE’s U.S. members to make practical contributions to the public policy process, promoting more effective use of scientific and technical knowledge in the U.S. government. Each year, the IEEE-USA Government Fellows Committee selects eligible IEEE members from a pool of applicants to serve a one-year fellowship on Capitol Hill. Applicants must possess either a Ph.D. or a Master’s degree plus a minimum of five (5) years of full-time, professional work experience. Fellows will receive a stipend of $85,000 plus other benefits. IEEE-USA Congressional Fellowships run from 1 September – 31 August each year. / Apply by December 9, 2024
