The American Institute for Yemeni Scholars (AIYS) is now accepting applications for the US Scholars Fellowship until February 11th, 2025! This fellowship enables US scholars to travel and complete research on Yemen in any academic discipline.

Program Benefits
The American Institute for Yemeni Studies is seeking to support and enhance Yemeni Studies in the US with this research fellowship. Fellowship awards are up to $5,000.
All academic disciplines are welcome to apply!
This fellowship is excellent for early scholars looking to travel for their research and great to supplement established scholars’ research.
Eligibility
To qualify for the fellowship travel is required and research must be carried out outside of the U.S. and Yemen. Previous fellows have traveled to Lebanon for the Jafet Library Special Collections at the American University of Beirut and to the Netherlands for the Leiden Collection of Ancient South Arabian Stick Inscriptions at Leiden University. Eligibility/Guidelines:
- US Citizenship
- Current full-time graduate students or post-graduate professionals
- Travel/Research must be outside the US and Yemen
- The project must center Yemen/Yemeni Studies
