Sponsored by USAID

Join the movement to end global hunger!

The Mickey Leland International Hunger Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for aspiring food and nutrition security leaders.

What You’ll Gain:

Professional Experience: Work with leading organizations like CARE, World Vision International, IFPRI, and Helen Keller International.

Leadership Lessons: Over two years, learn from two placements—one in the Global South and another in the Global North—gaining insights into effective international development strategies.

Program Benefits

You receive a stipend based on the cost of living for your two placements.

One resource we use is the MIT living wage calculator. For example, a fellow placed in Washington, D.C., will earn no less than $60,000/year; a fellow placed in Kampala, Uganda, will receive no less than $39,000/year.

You also be eligible for professional development funds during your fellowship and an end-of-service monetary award when you complete the program.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply, candidates must:

  • Have their master’s degree
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
