- University Summer Course Grant: This program provides scholarships to attend a broad range of 3- to 4-week summer language courses at German universities which focus mainly on German language and literary, cultural, political, and economic aspects of modern and contemporary Germany. Extensive extracurricular programs complement and reinforce the core material. Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to apply. - Nieman-Berkman Fellowship in Journalism Innovation: The Nieman-Berkman Fellowship in Journalism Innovation brings individuals to Harvard University to work on a specific course of research or a specific project relating to journalism innovation. Proposals from Nieman-Berkman Fellowship candidates may deal with any issue relating to journalism’s digital transformation. The fellowship is open to both U.S. and international applicants. - Berlin Program for Advanced German and European Studies Fellowships: The Program supports North American scholars in all social science and humanities disciplines, including historians working on modern and contemporary German and European history. - AIP Congressional Science Fellowship Program: The American Institute of Physics, in partnership with the Acoustical Society of America (ASA), annually sponsors one scientist to spend a year providing Congress with analytical expertise and scientific advice. The program enables scientists to broaden their experience through direct involvement with the legislative and policy processes. Fellows gain a perspective that, ideally, will enhance not only their own careers but also the physics community’s ability to more effectively communicate with its representatives in Congress. ANY Fellows attend 24 full-day workshops over two years, receiving intense career development and leadership training. All Fellows are matched one-on-one with a young professional Mentor Coach dedicated to their personal and professional growth. - Belfer Center Fellowships: The Belfer Center at Harvard University offers both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral research fellowships for one year, with a possibility for renewal. Applications for fellowships are welcome from MPP and MPA students at the Harvard Kennedy School, Predoctoral candidates, Current doctoral students, recent recipients of the Ph.D. or equivalent degree, visiting scholars, researchers at the junior faculty level, university faculty members, employees of government, and private research institutions who have acquired appropriate professional experience. - East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship Program: The East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship Program provides funding for graduate and doctoral students to participate in educational, cultural, residential community building, and leadership development programs at the East-West Center while pursuing a graduate degree at the University of Hawaii. The program links advanced and interdisciplinary analysis of emergent regional issues with experiential leadership learning. - D. Kim Foundation Fellowships: The D. Kim Foundation provides fellowships and grants to support graduate students and young scholars who are working in the history of science and technology in East Asia from the beginning of the 20th century, regardless of their nationality, origins, or gender. - Postdoctoral Fellowship in Food Security and the Environment: Stanford University’s Center on Food Security and the Environment addresses critical global issues of hunger, poverty, and environmental degradation by generating vital knowledge and policy-relevant solutions. - Center for Engaged Scholarship Dissertation Fellowships: Our dissertation fellowships are for Ph.D. students in the social sciences whose work is of high quality and that has the potential to contribute to making U.S. society less unequal, more democratic, and more environmentally sustainable. Each fellowship winner will receive $25,000 over nine months. Students enrolled in a U.S. PhD program in the following areas of study may apply anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, social psychology, and sociology. - Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship: The educational mission of the Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship is to train individuals at the fellowship level to become future Laboratory Directors and/or expert consultants to support the growing field of clinical Molecular Genetic Pathology in academic and non-academic settings. Training is typically one year and is tailored to the long-term career interests of the fellow. Additional years of training may be available. - Fulbright Schuman International Educator Grants: Grants are available for professionals in international education administration from European universities to research at a U.S. institution within a field that would be mutually beneficial to both institutions. Research projects should provide a comparative U.S.-EU perspective on global issues within international higher education and/or share best practices within the field. Proficiency in English is required. Stipends of 3,000 Euro/month (in a dollar equivalent) are provided as well as a 2k travel grant and a J-1 visa sponsorship. - Yenching Scholarship: The Yenching Academy provides a generous graduate scholarship that covers tuition fees, a travel stipend for one round-trip journey between each Scholar’s base city and Beijing, accommodations, and living costs on Peking University’s campus. This specially designed, English-taught program aims to push the study of China beyond the boundaries of traditionally defined Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines. - Horowitz Foundation Grants for Social Policy: The Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy supports emerging scholars as they work on projects that address contemporary issues in the social sciences. The foundation supports projects with a social policy application on either a global or local level. Grants are worth a total of $10,000; $7,500 is awarded initially and $2,500 upon completion of the project. Applicants must be current Ph.D. candidates who are working on a department-approved dissertation. Applicants can be from any country and any university in the world. - Ronald “Elder” Freeman Memorial Policy Fellowship: The Ronald “Elder” Freeman Memorial Policy Fellowship is a project of Legal Services for Prisoners with Children. The fellowship invites formerly incarcerated people to join the LSPC office for an intensive 12-month fellowship program to learn grassroots organizing, legislative and administrative advocacy, and other strategies to run local and state campaigns to elevate the leadership of formerly incarcerated people in criminal justice reform. - Neukom Fellows at Dartmouth College: Neukom Fellows are interdisciplinary positions for recent PhDs, DMAs, or MFAs whose research interests or practice cuts across traditional disciplinary boundaries, and has some computational component, whether it be a framing concept for intellectual exploration or an explicit part of the work that is pursued. Fellows will be mentored by faculty in two departments at Dartmouth College, take up residence in one department, and will teach one seminar course each year on a subject of their interest. The fellowship is for 2 years with options to renew for a third and the stipend is $65,000/year plus additional research resources. / Apply by December 1, 2024
- AHA Allan Martin Award: The Allan Martin Award is a research fellowship intended to assist early-career historians in furthering their research in Australian history. Each year, funding of up to $4,500 is awarded to assist with the expenses of a research trip undertaken in support of a project in Australian history. The research may be undertaken in Australia or overseas. The award is available to all early-career historians who have been awarded their Ph.D. within the last 5 years, whether academic, professional, or public historians working in museums, war memorials, and other institutions. - Stanford Vascular Medicine Fellowship: The Stanford Vascular Medicine fellowship is a multidisciplinary program to produce vascular medicine specialists with expertise in the diagnosis and non-invasive treatment of a wide spectrum of arterial, venous, and lymphatic diseases. This non-ACGME accredited 1-year fellowship is for fellows who have finished at minimum a 3-year internal medicine residency and wish to expand their expertise in vascular medicine. The clinical training will mainly occur in multiple outpatient specialty clinics. Certain rotations will occur in block rotations, but many of the continuity clinics will be spread throughout multiple weeks. / Apply by December 1, 2024
- Bloomberg Fellows Program: John’s Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is inviting individuals to work towards a fully-funded MPH or DrPH degree in the fields of Addiction and Overdose, Environmental Challenges, Obesity, and the Food System, Risks to Adolescent Health, and Violence. The Bloomberg Fellows must apply with the organizations for which they work and may study as full-time or part-time students. Upon completion of the academic program, fellows will work for their organization for one year. - Mellon Emerging Faculty Leaders Award: The Mellon Emerging Faculty Leaders Award supports tenure-track junior faculty who have passed their midpoint tenure review—including those from underrepresented groups and others committed to eradicating disparities in their fields—so that they can both engage in and build support systems, networks, and affinity groups that make their fields and campuses more inclusive. The Award offers a $20,000 stipend—$12,000 to be used for summer research support and $8,000 for research assistance during the academic year. - MindCORE Postdoctoral Research Fellowship: MindCORE seeks to recruit postdoctoral researchers for their Research Fellowship for Postdoctoral Scholars. Housed within the School of Arts and Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania, MindCORE is an interdisciplinary effort to understand human intelligence and behavior. Created for recent recipients of a PhD degree in psychology, linguistics, neuroscience, philosophy, computer science, or a related discipline, the program is a springboard for researchers to establish their research programs. - Postsecondary Education Applied Research Fellowship: The Postsecondary Education Applied Research (PEAR) Fellowship provides doctoral students with training in advanced quantitative analysis and the practical skills needed for a career in applied research in postsecondary education. - Kerstin Leitner Berlin Fellowships: The Berlin Program offers up to one year of dissertation or postdoctoral research support at the Freie Universität Berlin. - Social Enterprise & Nonprofit Law Clinic Graduate Teaching Fellowship: The two-year fellowship is an ideal position for a transactional lawyer interested in transitioning into legal academia and developing teaching and supervisory abilities in a setting that emphasizes a dual commitment—clinical education of law students and transactional law employed in the public interest. Applicants must have at least 3 years of post-J.D. legal experience. Successful completion of the fellowship results in the award of an L.L.M. in Advocacy from Georgetown University. Applicants must be admitted or be able to be admitted to the District of Columbia Bar within 6 months of entering the fellowship. - The Commonwealth Fund Fellowship in Minority Health Policy: The Commonwealth Fund Fellowship in Minority Health Policy at Harvard University is a one-year, full-time, academic degree-granting program designed to prepare physicians, particularly physicians from groups underrepresented in medicine, to become leaders who improve the health of disadvantaged and vulnerable populations through transforming healthcare delivery systems and promoting innovation in policies, practices, and programs that address health equity and the social determinants of health. - PSC Postdoctoral Fellowship: The Population Studies Center has a vibrant interdisciplinary group of postdoctoral fellows. The fellows benefit from fruitful relationships with PSC faculty mentors and programming designed to provide training in population science perspectives and methods, exposure to interdisciplinary scholarship, and continued development of scholarly independence. - CFR Stanton Nuclear Security Fellowship: The Stanton Nuclear Security Fellowship, sponsored by the Stanton Foundation, offers younger scholars studying nuclear security issues the opportunity to spend twelve months at CFR’s offices in New York or Washington, DC, conducting policy-relevant research. While in residence full-time at CFR, selected fellows will be expected to lead a project of their design, conduct original research, and write at least one policy-relevant document. The fellows will also be mentored by the fellows of CFR’s David Rockefeller Studies Program. Ferguson Emerging Infectious Diseases Research Initiatives for Student Enhancement (RISE) Fellowship: The Ferguson RISE Fellowship Program is a CDC-funded, summer program, 6-month (part-time or full-time), and 12-month full-time Fellowship program. The Ferguson RISE Fellowship provides research, education, and professional development opportunities for fellows interested in infectious diseases, public health, mental health, maternal and child health, and/or health disparities research. The overarching goal of the Ferguson RISE Fellowship is to promote diversity among future public health research leaders. - National Parks Business Plan Internship: The Business Plan Internship (BPI) is a prestigious summer program for top graduate students studying business, public policy, environmental management, and other related fields. Over eleven weeks, pairs of Fellows work in parks and regional offices across the country, leading strategic projects that impact the long-term health of vital American resources. This rigorous and highly selective program runs from June through August, beginning with a week-long NPS orientation. - Cambridge International Scholarships Scheme (CISS): Cambridge University will offer via the Cambridge Trusts at least 80 awards to Overseas Students who embark on a research program leading to a Ph.D. Each award has a maximum duration of three years and will underwrite the full cost of fees and maintenance for the course duration. - Cambridge Trust Scholarship: The Cambridge Trust offers scholarships only for study at the University of Cambridge and requires that you have applied for admission to the University by the relevant deadline. Applicants must be intending to start a course at the level of, Masters, Research postgraduate (such as PhD). There are different procedures for applying for undergraduate study and for postgraduate study. Applicants may study any subject currently available at the University. - Woolf Institute Cambridge Scholarships: The Woolf Institute and the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust / Cambridge Overseas Trust have agreed to co-fund Ph.D. students at the University of Cambridge. Scholars will be selected from amongst applicants in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Their research must be relevant to the focus of the Woolf Institute – the multi-disciplinary study of relations between Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Each scholarship will cover the full cost of studying for a Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge and will be tenable at any of the thirty-one Cambridge Colleges. - Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Dissertation Fellowships in Buddhist Studies: The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Dissertation Fellowships in Buddhist Studies provide one-year stipends of $30,000 to PhD candidates for full-time preparation of dissertations. The fellowship period may be used for fieldwork, archival research, analysis of findings, or for writing after the research is complete. Dissertations must contribute to Buddhist studies and be written in English. - Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Early Career Research Fellowships in Buddhist Studies: Early Career Research fellowships offer support for research and writing in Buddhist studies for scholars who hold a Ph.D. degree, with no restrictions on time from the Ph.D. These fellowships provide scholars time free from teaching and other responsibilities to devote full-time to research and writing on the project proposed. The fellowship period may last up to nine months, during which time no teaching, commissioned research on other topics, or administrative duties are allowed. - Wellcome Trust Discovery Awards: The scheme of discovery awards provides funding for established researchers and teams from any discipline who want to pursue bold and creative research ideas to deliver significant shifts in understanding that could improve human life, health, and wellbeing. The research can be in a single discipline or multidisciplinary. The host organization of the lead applicant should be based in the UK, the Republic of Ireland, or low- or middle-income countries (apart from India and mainland China). - The Inter-American Foundation Research Fellowship Program: The Inter-American Foundation (IAF), in conjunction with the Social Science Research Council (SSRC), welcomes applicants for its new Research Fellowship Program to advance rigorous field-based research on actionable questions about community-led development in Latin America and the Caribbean. The IAF will award up to ten fellowships. Each of the ten fellowships includes a stipend of $20,000 to support an individual researcher working over twelve months in one or more of the countries in the region where the IAF works, participation in a three-day in-person orientation workshop, and engagement with the network of IAF Fellows. - RAND Graduate Student Summer Associate Program: RAND’s Summer Associate Program introduces outstanding graduate students to RAND, an institution that researches a wide range of national security problems and domestic and international social policy issues. The program is designed for full-time students who have completed at least 2 years of graduate work leading to a doctorate (e.g., PhD, EDD, DRPH, SciD, etc.) or professional degree (e.g., law or medical degree, professional engineer certificate). - Aspire Leaders Program: The Aspire Leaders Program, a free leadership development for low-income, first-generation college students founded by Harvard faculty, provides professional development workshops, a global network of peers and world-class educators, and the chance to apply for financial awards to drive change in your communities. Applicants who are 18-29 years old, enrolled in college or recently graduated, low-income, and first-generation to go to university are eligible to apply. - CAORC Multi-Country Research Fellowship Program: The Multi-Country Fellowship Program supports advanced regional or trans-regional research in the humanities, social sciences, or allied natural sciences for U.S. doctoral candidates and scholars who have already earned their Ph.D. Preference will be given to candidates examining comparative and/or cross-regional research. Scholars must carry out research in two or more countries outside the United States, at least one of which hosts a participating American overseas research center. - Eben Tisdale Public Policy Fellowship: The Eben Tisdale Fellowship offers outstanding opportunities for students to learn about high-tech public policy issues with hands-on experience in Washington, D.C. The Fellowship provides a full scholarship of $8,695 to attend the Business + Government Relations program as well as a $1,000 stipend. Tisdale Fellows will be placed with a high-tech company, firm, or trade association, take two classes worth six credits from George Mason University, and live in furnished apartments on George Washington University’s downtown campus. - Gilliam Fellows Program: The Gilliam Fellows Program provides awards to pairs of thesis advisers and their graduate students based on what HHMI values and considers essential components of the environment, particularly the institution and adviser’s commitment to creating a healthy academic ecosystem and the student’s potential for scientific leadership. Adviser-student pairs must be studying scientific problems in biomedical sciences, life sciences, or biological questions in related disciplines. Fellows are supported for up to three years. The award amount is $53,000 per year. - The Danielle Parks Memorial Fellowship: This is a fellowship of $2,000 for a graduate student of any nationality who needs to work in Cyprus to further their research on a subject of relevance to Cypriot archaeology and culture. The purpose of the fellowship is to help cover travel and living expenses in Cyprus. Applications are invited, especially from students of Hellenistic and Roman Cyprus. During their stay, the fellow is expected to give a presentation at CAARI on a subject related to their research. The fellow will periodically keep the Director of CAARI apprised of their research activities. / Apply by December 6, 2024
- The Helena Wylde Swiny And Stuart Swiny Fellowship: One grant of US $2,000 to a graduate student of any nationality in a college or university in the U.S. or Canada to pursue a research project that is relevant to an ongoing field project in Cyprus or that requires work on Cyprus itself. The award is to be used to fund research time spent in residence at CAARI and to help defray the costs of travel. Residence at CAARI is required. / Apply by December 6, 2024
- The Anita Cecil O’Donovan Fellowship: Founded in memory of musician, composer, and homemaker Anita Cecil O’Donovan, this fellowship offers one grant of US $2,000 to a graduate student of any nationality, enrolled in a graduate program in any nation, to pursue research on a project relevant to archaeology and/or culture of Cyprus; to be used to fund a period of research time in residence at CAARI and to help defray costs of travel. Residence at CAARI is required. / Apply by December 6, 2024
- DoD SMART Scholarship for Service Program: The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship for Service Program, funded by the Department of Defense (DoD), is a combined educational and workforce development opportunity for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) students. SMART offers scholarships for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students pursuing a degree in one of the 21 STEM disciplines. SMART scholars receive full tuition, annual stipends, internships, and guaranteed employment with the DoD after graduation. Scholarships are awarded for a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 5 years of funding, depending on degree requirements. / Apply by December 6, 2024
