  • Education Fellows Program: The program aims to advance research and scholarship in the internationally growing field of Soka education. Soka (literally “value-creating”) is an education system comprised of 15 institutions ranging from kindergartens to universities in seven countries across Asia and the Americas. These Soka institutions are committed to fostering each student’s unique creative potential and cultivating an ethic of peace, social contribution, and global awareness. The mission is to build cultures of peace through learning and dialogue inspired by Buddhist humanism. The fellowship supports doctoral degree candidates in the U.S. and Canada as they research different topics in education. The award is for $10,000 per year for 2 years. / Apply by September 1, 2024

 

  • University of British Columbia Fully Funded PhD in Food Science: The University of British Columbia in Canada offers a fully funded PhD in Food Science. Food scientists integrate and apply fundamental knowledge from multiple disciplines to ensure a safe, nutritious, sustainable, and high-quality food supply, and to establish scientifically sound principles that guide policy and regulations about food on a global scale. All full-time students who begin a UBC-Vancouver PhD program will receive a funding package of at least $22,000 for each of the first four years of their Ph.D. The funding package may consist of any combination of internal or external awards, teaching-related work, research assistantships, and graduate assistantships. / Apply by September 1, 2024

 

  • University of Hawaii at Manoa Fully Funded PhD in Linguistics: The University of Hawaii at Manoa, based in Honolulu, HI offers a fully funded PhD in Linguistics. The Ph.D. program provides comprehensive professional training for careers in research and teaching. Ph.D. students are required to demonstrate competence in one language other than their native language. The Department of Linguistics provides all PhD students with full support (a graduate assistantship that includes a stipend and a full tuition waiver) for eight semesters. Graduate Assistantships provide approximately $18,204 per year for PhD students.   • Queen’s University Fully Funded Master of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering: Queen’s University, based in Kingston, Canada offers a fully funded Master of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering. M.A.Sc. program educates students in advanced concepts and techniques, conducts research inquiry at the forefront of discipline knowledge, and fosters independent and critical thought. Every full-time graduate student engaged in research has adequate financial support during his or her graduate program with a guaranteed minimum level of $26,340 for both MASc and Ph.D. students. As part of the minimum funding package, you may serve as a Teaching Assistant for at least one term per year.   • University of Calgary Fully Funded Master of Science in Computer Science: The University of Calgary in Canada offers a fully funded Master of Science in Computer Science. This is a full-time degree with an expected completion time of two years, typically requiring a Bachelor’s degree in the same or a closely related discipline. The Department of Computer Science provides minimum funding of $24,000 per year for both Ph.D. and MSc (thesis-based) students. The funding is guaranteed for two years for MSc students. The funding is a mixture of Graduate Assistant Teaching (GAT), supervisor support, and scholarships. Most departmental financial aid is awarded in February and March.   • University of Idaho Fully Funded Master’s in Civil Engineering: The University of Idaho, based in Moscow, ID offers a fully funded master’s in Civil Engineering. Areas of emphasis include environmental engineering, structures, transportation, highway materials engineering, hydrology, hydraulics, and ecohydraulics. Financial assistance in the form of teaching or research assistantships is available on a competitive basis. All students who are admitted to the Master of Science in Civil Engineering program are considered for an assistantship, but not all admitted students will receive such support. As a graduate student, you will have an extensive curriculum to choose from, with both fundamental and advanced courses in every branch of mathematics. The M.Sc. thesis program can be completed in 3 academic terms over 16 months.  All graduate students in Mathematics and Statistics who are accepted into our master’s or doctoral programs receive funding. Multiple Graduate Teaching Assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis. The M.A. in Geography and Environmental Sustainability degree is designed to give students a professional grasp of the concepts and techniques of geography. The M.A. degree can be completed with or without a thesis. The Department offers several teaching and research assistantships to highly qualified students each year. Stipends are for nine months of each academic year along with tuition waivers and health insurance. The Department offers financial help and almost all the Ph.D. students are covered by financial aid in one form or another. They always have new assistantships (TA/RA) for new Ph.D. students entering the Department. The Master of Science (thesis) degree emphasizes graduate research and culminates in the creation of a thesis and associated oral exam. The majority of our graduate students are supported through research assistantships and/or fellowships. Teaching assistantships are determined by the Graduate Committee.   • University of Rochester Medical Center Maternal Child Health Fellowship: The Maternal Child Health Fellowship program is designed to train Family Medicine doctors in high-risk/surgical obstetrics and management of common newborn conditions, equipping them with the skills necessary to improve maternal and child health outcomes for underserved populations. The one-year fellowship is particularly designed for those interested in practicing in an underserved setting. The fellowship offers 2 tracks: The surgically-focused track, and the Advanced obstetrics track. Salary based on current PGY-4/year (2022-2023 academic year = $69,609). CME funding: $2,100/year, and $2000/year for rural-focused conference attendance.   • ITTO Fellowship programme: ITTO offers fellowships to promote human resource development and to strengthen professional expertise in member countries in tropical forestry and related disciplines. The goal is to promote the sustainable management of tropical forests, the efficient use and processing of tropical timber, and better economic information about the international trade in tropical timber. The program enables young and mid-career people from over 49 countries working for government, universities, research institutions, civil society, and the private sector to pursue professional development and improve their career prospects. The programme supports mainly short-term activities, such as participation in international conferences, training courses, and study tours.  In addition, it also helps people to prepare manuals and monographs and provides small grants for post-graduate study. ITTO Fellowship Programme encourages the capacity development of women foresters. The maximum amount for a fellowship grant is US$10,000.   • MacColl Johnson Fellowships: The Robert and Margaret MacColl Johnson Fellowship Fund provides up to three $25,000 artist fellowships each year, rotating among composers, writers, and visual artists on a three-year cycle. In all three disciplines, the fellowships will be awarded to emerging and mid-career Rhode Island artists whose work demonstrates creativity, rigorous dedication, consistent artistic practice, and significant artistic merit.   • Lymphoma Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowships: The LRF Postdoctoral Fellowship Grant is designed to support investigators currently working at the level of advanced fellow or postdoctoral researcher in the laboratory or clinic-based research with results and conclusions that must be relevant to the treatment, diagnosis, or prevention of Hodgkin and/or non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Areas of research may include but are not limited to, etiology, immunology, genetics, therapies, and transplantation. Fellows must be affiliated with a sponsor institution in the U.S. or Canada, but citizenship is not required. 2-year commitment with a stipend of 105k paid throughout the 2-year fellowship. / Apply by September 5, 2024

 

  • Skadden Fellowship: Skadden Fellowships are for graduating law students who wish to devote their professional lives to providing legal services to the underprivileged. Fellowships are awarded for two years and include a salary of approximately $63,000 per year, a $2,500 stipend for training, and all fringe benefits to which an employee of the sponsoring organization would be entitled.
